Does German Berufsschule education count in US

Does German Berufsschule education count in US?
I'm from Germany and went there to Wirtschaftsschule/Realschule and then Berufsschule (Industriekauffrau). I now live in the USA and would like to go back to school for a nursing degree. Does my German education count here in the US or would I have to start out new and take a GED test?

since you have an international educational background, you would have to check out requirements for international students on each schools web site. I would recommend calling up admissions and talking to them.

To get admitted into University you need to have finished high school. You will need to get your credentials evaluated and translated. You do not need to take the GED test. Contact the college first and see what they require of you. Credential Evaluation Services Credential evaluation services provide objective evaluations of the US equivalents of foreign education and work credentials. For example, a credential evaluation service would indicate that the Spanish word bachiller corresponds to a US high school diploma, even though the literal translation is bachelor. Fees for the evaluation of US education credentials tend to range from $50 to $250 per document, depending on the amount of detail required and the speed of response. Some companies will also translate the documents. Others will require that the documents be accompanied by English translations. There may be extra fees (typically $20 to $100 per page) for document translation services. The student is responsible for paying for the credential evaluation and translation fees. The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) is the national professional organization for admissions and credential evaluation. AACRAO also offers their own credential evaluation service. There is also the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES), a small membership association of private credential evaluation services.

Do you think the reason Germany has excellent socialized medical care because they support the educations of thier most academically promising students by free medical school, free housing and a small stipend. They have so many doctors there and such good health that the doctors make house calls along with nurses. When I went to the hospital with a German friend they did not even have a doctor on staff at night because the only people in the hospital were elderly who were in pretty good health but mostly were wheelchair bound so it was used as an extended care facility and there were very few in there who were elderly compared to the US. Are Banksters behind giving credit cards to illegals?

I think it is true, also Europe does not have the doctors/nurses/hospitals/insurance problems and crisese that the US has..........also not the health and obesity issues.
2 :
How about because the United States provides military protection for Germany, so they don't have to spend billions of dollars every year on a military budget, so they can instead, spend it on social welfare programs. Maybe if we'd let Stalin have ALL of Germany after WWII, they wouldn't have such a great medical infrastructure, now.

Can I become a nurse in Europe and work in the USA

Can I become a nurse in Europe and work in the USA?
I am an American citizen and I would like to study in Europe and become a nurse there. Would the degree I get in Europe be valid in the United States? The country I want to go to is Germany, but I also wouldn't mind Finland.

You would just still have to take the American NCLEX first before you could work in the USA, but medicine in Europe is taught the same as it is here.
2 :
Your best bet is to talk to an administrator from a nursing school, good luck! There are so many beautiful sites in Germany, I envy you.
3 :
Us British have morals. Our country trains us to treat our own, and visitors of course.
4 :
You would have to take the NCLEX in the US to have you degree certified and license approved. However, you might make a bit more money in Europe with an official degree.

What is it like to be a nurse in the Army

What is it like to be a nurse in the Army?
I am a Reserves soldier in ROTC trying to decide what to major in. What is it like for an Officer Nurse in the Regular Army?? As far as day to day (do you just work at a hospital) and deployments (do most get stationed in Germany or Iraq etc just as much? Is it dangerous for nurses?)

My wife is a 66E Perioperative (OR) Nurse and loves it. She goes in at 0700 and comes home around 1530 daily. The deployments for US Army Nurses are 6 months boots on the ground in a combat zone. My wife has not deployed and has been in for 2 years so far, but has worked with a couple that have. They said their living standards are quite nice and they wouldn't mind going back. As far as day to day operations go it's really dependent upon your job. My wife only works in the OR and from what she's learned, won't deviate from that unless she requests it. Again, look at the different specialties and that answer may vary accordingly. Is it dangerous...by odds I'd say no since we've lost one Army Nurse since the Vietnam War to Present. She died in a chow hall in Iraq. The educational benefits are one of the huge reasons she joined and remained in. The Army hired her with her MSN and she'll attend the Perioperative Masters Program before picking up Major. Anyway, my wife was a Nurse for 12 years before deciding upon this and she says she's never been more impressed with the efficiency of a hospital the way she's seen in the two Army hospitals she's worked in. If you've got more specific questions then please feel free to email me and I'll pass them on to the wife. Best of luck! *EDIT* So someone is going to give me a thumbs down when I actually live with an Army Nurse? Idiots.

As a nurse in the Army, you are usually stationed in a hospital, but attached to a field unit. You will work in the hospital on a routine daily basis, doing your regular work. In the event the field unit deploys, you are pulled out of the hospital to go with them. You will be working in a field hospital, whereever you are deployed. You can be stationed anywhere the military has a facility, including the US, Korea, Europe, Iraq and Afghanistan
