Did any of you get your Associate´s degree in Nursing on-line, and if so, from what accredited university?
I live in Germany, so it´s impossible to go to school here because I´ve only had 6 months of Deutsch language training. I´ve always wanted to become a nurse, and was thinking about taking on-line classes just in case we move back to the States. I have a Bachelor´s degree from a Big 10 school.

It would be impossible to do an entire nursing degree online because of the labs and clinicals. You might be able to get some of the general ed and pre reg courses out of the way, but if you already have degree you probably already have most of them. If you do move back to the US you should look into an accelerated BSN programs. They are for people that already have degrees and usually only take 1 to 2 years. Then you would have a BSN and wouldn't have to even bother with an ASN.

U.S. Nursing schools in Germany

U.S. Nursing schools in Germany??
My husband is in the army and we would love to go to Germany when he gets back from Afghanastan, the only problem is, I need to get into a four year university for nursing. I will be recieving my associates in pre-nursing really soon here, and want to continue on with my bachelors in nursing. I will not have a nursing degree as I have done no clinicals, it is not a nursing degree I will be recieveing only a pre nursing degree. I am wondering if there are any Four year colleges that are in Germany on an Army post that do nursing degrees?? How would I find out more information about this? I want to get a degree and be able to take the NCLEX and still work in the U.S. when we come back?? Thank you for any help or advice I mean it CAN NOT be an online course, I DO NOT have my RN's Licesne at all. Just pre nursing

There are no US schools for nursing in Germany. Do you speak German? You might be able to find a way to enroll in a German University as a foreign student. But then you would have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get your RN in the states. I would suggest you postpone your move to Germany. Finish your education here and get your RN in the states. Then you might be able to work in Germany. But get licensed here.

In the US, it is very difficult, if not downright impossible, to earn your initial degree in nursing which makes you eligible for state licensure in an entirely online program. Most states require programs to have classroom time, and they definitely require a certain number of hours spent in clinicals. Living in Germany, US programs that are offered online will be of little or no use to you. Are you staying in Germany? Look into university programs offered there. And perhaps the German schools are structured differently. If you are planning on returning to the US at some point you should definitely ask how a German nursing education is applicable for transfer to the US. If you are returning to the US sooner rather than later, look into programs here that are labeled as "accelerated BSN" programs, they are for people like you who hold a previous bachelor's degree in another field and want to earn your bachelor's in nursing. Usually there might be a few pre-reqs to take (which might be able to be done online) and then you take all the nursing courses required for the degree. It usually takes about 1.5-2 years to complete if you go full time. Good luck.

No, you must pass English test and then get your course evaluated, mostly you have to take a couple of more coures here, then take NCLEX.
