The first thing you have to do is get your RN as no real hospital is going to accept an Lpn. -I'm sorry but that's just the truth and I know it's hard and expensive......... Then, after you get your RN they have companies that specialize in Travel Nursing where you can go all over the US. Germany most likely won't take you unless, because they are somewhat like Canada, you have a special skill not found in the country. They reserve their jobs for citizens first. There is a way around it but a company would have to sponsor and request you. Go back and get your RN, you don't want to "wipe butt" for the rest of your life.

You would need to have a work visa and a German nursing license which would likely require you to have your BSN and know how to speak German.

To work as a nurse on a US military base, you would have to be in the US military. As an LPN, you aren't getting an employment visa work practically anywhere. It simply is not an adequate qualification for employment visas. RN is not enough most places, either. You'd need at least BSN, preferably MSN with a rare specialization, to be hired in most foreign countries and eligible for an employment visa. Employers have to obtain employment visas for their employees in most countries - you cannot apply. Also note that it is very difficult for any non-EU citizen to obtain employment and visa to work anywhere in the EU. Employment preferences are first, citizens of that country, then citizens of other EU countries.

You could very well become a medic at the army hospital in Germany where our injured soldiers go. I hope the person before me didnt say that.

Being a nursing major, the first obvious choice would be a career as a nurse. If you could speak German, you could potentially become a nurse in Germany, but I'm not sure whether or not you'd need extra qualifications to meet health requirements in Germany. You could also look into working in an area with many German speakers - that would be a plus for hospitals and private clinics. It would help if you told us where you're from. That way, we can help you research a few work places around you.

Can anyone list universities in Germany that are taught in English

Can anyone list universities in Germany that are taught in English?
I'm planning to move back to Germany when I'm old enough and I was wondering if anyone had a list of universities taught in English. I would just go to a university in the states, but in order to obtain citizenship, I have to learn German. Maybe I could take a class while I'm there. I'm going to study to become a surgical nurse. -Thanks

Official information on all visas here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_1750.html
2 :
a) Live close to an army base and it's practically guaranteed that some soldier is on the lookout for a girlfriend. Get married and get sponsored for a greencard.... b) Currently they could only get a work visa as a nurse if they have at least the equivalent of a bachelors degree and some work experience. They also would have to pass a licencing exam (https://www.ncsbn.org/nclex.htm). There isn't any special visa for nurses any more. c) If they want to go to school to the US they need to be accepted by an US university or college and have the necessary funds available to pay for tuition. The school needs to be SEVIS SEVP approved so they can give the student an I-20. They have to do their research as far as tuition fees are concerned, read through here to get an idea: http://www.costhelper.com/cost/education/nursing-school.html, but generally it does cost a good chunk of money.

Immigration means somebody wants to move to the US permanently. Those folks move over with an immigrant visa. They are called lawful permanent residents (LPRs) and have a Green Card. Aside from the DV Lottery (which I won in), there are 3 basic ways to immigrate to the US: 1) By being the immediate relative of a US citizen. That's a spouse, a child, or a parent. Other relatives can eventually make it, but just to give you an idea, if a US citizen petitions for their 21-or-older sibling, the waiting time is currently 19 years for the Philippines and 16 years for Mexico. 2) By being an investor, able and willing to invest at least $1mio into a new US business. Another requirement is to create at least 10 new jobs. Note, in a rural area, this requirement is reduced to 50%, thus, if a simple millionaire wants to move where nobody else would want to even die, he'd be able to. 3) By having an advanced degree in a discipline in high demand. Think brain surgeon, nuclear physicist. Nurse won't cut it. The corporate sponsor has to file with the Department of Labor and get a labor certification. The job has to be advertised and no US citizen or resident has come forward to do that job, at a competitive rate. That means, you can't look for a surgeon and offer $10 per hour. For obvious reasons, this is the most difficult path.
