Can I work as a RN in the US? (info below)?
okay, this one is kinda tricky I guess. I am a registered midwife in germany (during my education I had to work in various fields) but unfortunatly we don't get a bachelor or anything similar. However I did a distance education programm and earned a bachelor in nursing, though I did not need to do any practical experience (which I have anyways because of my job). My question is wether I can work as a registered nurse in the US? What kind of policy do I need to do (despite visa and stuff)?

pick a state & contact its Board of Nursing. each state governs it's RNs.

It's iffy. They may say no because you haven't had to do the clinicals that pertain to RN. The issue is also that some states will allow you to be a midwife without having any nursing training. Then you can be a midwife that is a LPN. Also, can you work as a nurse in Germany? I think that would be the largest obstacle. The state will probably look at what your previous experience is in. Do you have experience with medicine? Do you have some sort of pharmacology background? Do you have training with IVs? Can you administer an IV? Can you administer medication? Then, you'll have to pass an exam to become licensed. Every state has their own licensing board too to make it more frustrating.
